Stuff.....

Kevin Kolb gets a 1 year extension with 12.2 million guaranteed.....seems like the Eagles are dipping a toe in the water and not extending themselves too far with the young QB just yet.

Conan O'Brien rips Jay Leno on 60 Minutes to air this weekend....a Wrestlemania event between the two shouldn't be far off.

Ryan Howard =$135 million.....yikes.

They are trying to contain a massive oil leak off the coast of Louisiana....and the kids from MTV's Jersey Shore are heading down there to save on suntain oil and hair gel.

Could it be 30 years since Super Bowl XV? That means I'm 52!! Luckily I have the body of a 51 year old.

In response to yesterday's post regarding Heather Steinberg and her collection of formal gowns so needy young ladies can go to their prom....her email address is heathermcstein@comcast.net if you would like to contact her or contribute.

I'm not a major league manager, but how do you take Giants ace Tim Lincecum out of that game in the 9th with a 4-1 lead? The Phils tied it on a bloop double by Jason Werth and then won it in extra frames.

My first memories of Diane Allen were on tv when she was the afternoon anchor at ABC affiliate WLS-TV in Chicago in the late 60's/early 70's. I'm glad the State Senator from NJ is on the mend after her treatment for oral cancer. Excuse the language...but I'm starting to understand that getting older sucks.

I'm aware that NFL teams pay huge sums of $ to rookies and want to protect their investment, but Dolphin's GM Jeff Ireland asking Oklahoma State wide receiver Dez Bryant if his mother was a prostitute?? What was he thinking....was he looking for a date?

If you want a quick and tasty mexican lunch.....check out Baja Fresh. Not bad!

Hasta la vista.....

When I was in college at Memphis State back in the late 70's, Larry Brown was visiting there interviewing for the head coaching vacancy there. Now I realize he is a great basketball mind...but how many jobs has this guy had over the years? And why do teams continue to hire him when they know he will be leaving in a year or two?? Incredible!

I have a neighbor Heather Steinberg who spends the winter gathering old prom gowns that no one wants anymore and gives them to needy girls that can't afford a nice dress for their special night. It's an unbelievable act of kindness....way to go Heather!

Phillies fall out of first.....don't worry, it won't last.

My stocks took a hit yesterday....rumor is the Fed is worried that Greece will get caught with their pants down.

Livan Hernandez beat the Cubs 3-1 last night. How old is he anyway? I think I remember him pitching in the Eisenhauer administration.

Bon Jour.....

Remember AN IMPROBABLE JOURNEY as a Mother of Father's Day gift! Go to http://www.kendunek.com/

Thoughts....
If you ever doubted the precious nature of life....watch ESPN's Rick Reilly interview Denver Nuggets Coach George Karl as he undergoes radiation and chemotherapy treatments for cancer.

One good thing about middle age is that you don't need as many haircuts....it is coming out all on it's own.

Lebron James is ridiculous....there should be another category for him and Kobe Bryant.

I am reading a daily devotional by Zig Ziglar....and I highly recommend it.

Went to Atlantic City this weekend. A friend bought me lunch....I won $135 playing blackjack....and I brought 2 White House Special Hoagies home for dinner....It doesn't get much better than that!

All the best......

Postings:

A HUGE thank you too all that attended my book signing at Blue20 in Cherry Hill on Friday night. We sold some books, drank some wine, and had a really enjoyable evening. Go to www.kendunek.com for more info on An Improbable Journey.

I realize I'm living in the past...but when I'm in the car I listen only to 70's music.

The Cubs are starting to hit...and Ted Lilly is back. Look out!

Scott Brown is an impressive rising star in the Republican party....and has the courage to stand up to party leaders when their agenda's don't jibe. If he is elected President someday and Sarah Palin is his Vice-President, they would be the best looking couple in the White House since Jackie O and JFK.

Phillies win on some clutch hitting by Jason Werth...too bad they can't afford to sign him to a long term deal.

Check out some of the on line pics of the Icelandic volcano eruption....spectacular!

Until next time.....

Observations......

Did you see the look on Mel Kiper's face when Tim Tebow was chosen by the Denver Bronco's passing over Mel's number 1 rated QB Jimmy Clausen? It's amazing to me how these so called "experts" continue to value 40 times and technique over actual accomplishments on the field. I've always said if arm strength was the only criteria to judge a quarterback, Joe Montana and Johnny Unitas may have never played in the NFL. Tim Tebow is a solid QB, a great young man, and a WINNER. He will succeed in professional football, and in his post career life as well. And you won't have to worry about him pulling a Ben Roethlisberger act either.

Flyer's beat the Devils 4 games to 1. I told you a hot goalie can carry you through the playoffs. Now let's go Blackhawks.

Eagle's trade up to #13 and take Brandon Graham from Michigan...who is either a defensive end or an outside linebacker depending on the scheme. Two of the most important characteristics of a winning football team are its ability to run the football, and to get pressure on the opposing QB without blitzing. Let's hope he is the right guy.

Have you ever tasted the green apple water ice at Rita's? Yummy.

Don't forget my book signing tonite at the spectacular Blue20 restaurant in Cherry Hill, NJ from 5-7 PM!

Adios muchachos.....

Musings.....

Let me get this straight...Larry King had an affair with his wife's sister? And who said money can't buy love?

William Shakespeare wrote about the NFL draft years ago...it was entitled "Much Ado About Nothing".

Ok, I know he's good...but can Phillies pitcher Roy Halliday be THIS good?

The best lunch for the $ is the pretzeldog at the Philadelphia Soft Pretzel factory....don't forget the brown mustard.

Lou Piniella had a closed door meeting with Alfonso Soriano asking him to run when he hits the ball instead of standing there and admiring it......what do you expect for 140 million Lou...everything?

I'm appalled at the foul language used in public places when little children are nearby. I will risk a punch in the nose before I let it happen when I'm around.

Aloha......
